Bobi, the dog of the Portuguese Mastiff breed, who previously held the title of “oldest dog of all time” awarded by the Guinness World Records (GWR), had his title removed following an investigation.

The GWR questioned the authenticity of Bobi’s age after receiving criticism from veterinarians and experts, who pointed out inconsistencies in the evidence presented.

The investigation raised doubts about the dog’s age after observations about differences in the coloring of his paws in photos from different periods of his life. After a thorough analysis, the GWR did not find conclusive evidence to prove Bobi’s age, resulting in the withdrawal of his title.

The withdrawal of the title highlights the importance of solid and reliable evidence in the awarding of record titles. Meanwhile, the search for the world’s oldest dog continues.
